Here’s a 2012 Audi Q5 that we purchased in Redwood City, CA. With only 100k miles on it, the motor gave out. The Q5 was powered by a 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder motor. Like newer Audi’s, longevity wasn’t their strong suit. The internals of the engine were built in a way where it took gobs of maintenance to keep them on the road.
At 60k miles, Audi’s usually need a timing belt, thermostat, water pump, etc. in order to stay running well. And that’s not including the random occasional transmission failures. With an engine repair costing well over five thousand dollars, our customer knew it wasn’t worth fixing. We were able to get her a fair offer and get the frustration gone.
